Located in the jungle that populates the state of Quintana Roo, Pacchen flourished years ago near here thanks to the union of four families dedicated to life in nature. Since then, the community of Pacchen, whose name means " inclined well " in the Mayan language ( Pac-Chen ), has been a refuge where tradition is intertwined with a deep commitment to sustainability.

 

As time went by, the members of the community decided to move to our current location, a place that allowed us to continue cultivating and trading the products of the land: the cornfield that feeds our families, the honey that sweetens our days, and the charcoal that provides heat. This change was not just geographical; it was a renewed effort to keep our ancestral customs alive while we began to explore a new path towards responsible tourism .

 

In 2022, after more than 20 years working alongside a tourist agency, we decided to embark on the adventure of self-managing the tourist flow on our own. Always with the perspective of promoting community tourism committed to the environment, at Pacchen we offer adventure and nature activities to raise awareness among those who visit us through entertainment and enjoyment of the environment that surrounds us.

 

Today, our community has approximately 175 inhabitants , all of them committed to the conservation of the environment. At Pacchen, respect for nature is a fundamental pillar of our daily life. Here, we invite visitors to immerse themselves in our rich culture, exploring the mysterious cenotes and tranquil lagoons that surround us, but always respecting the environment around us. In addition, we offer the opportunity to participate in Mayan rituals, where spirituality and tradition come to life , connecting each guest with our ancestral roots.
